(Simple) Beauty Mommy

Oh how I look back at what my beauty routine used to be and wonder how I was able to get out the door on time in the morning.

Many of  you mommies have probably experienced this.  You have your baby, the  first 3 months your beauty routine goes completely out the window (you're lucky if you get a shower), then you start trying to get back to your routine and you realize... there is NO way I'm going to have time for this. Here are a few ways I simplified my beauty routine.

1.  Use a FOAM cleanser
Pre-pregnancy I used a certain 3 step system. Definitely do not have time for that now.  I finally figured out a foam cleanser was the most effective way to get my skin clean. There is no lathering time and the bottle lasts a very long time since one pump is enough to fill your palm.  I use Simple Foaming Cleanser.

2. Use a Facial Brush at night
One of the reasons I used the 3 step system was because I felt that a cleanser alone wasn't enough to make my skin glow.  I tried using an exfoliating cleanser but it didn't give the same effect. Finally I figured out using a facial brush with the foaming cleanser at night gave me the desired look and feel.  Facial brushes can be very expensive but I found an affordable one that works very well.  Olay Pro-X Advanced Cleansing System Brush is about $25-$30 at your local drugstore.

3. Shower at Night.
I know this one may not work for everyone.  I shower in the evening when my son takes his last nap.  I don't blow dry my hair and I let it air dry overnight.  I have naturally straight hair so this works for me.  I realize this may not work for those with wavy hair.  A friend of mine says she showers at night and lets her hair air dry and then just quickly blasts her hair with the blow drying in the morning while brushing.

4. Use quick, quality make-up
Before becoming pregnant, I wore eyeliner almost daily.  It is now reserved for special occasions.  My make-up routine consists of tinted moisturizer, concealer under my eyes, blush and mascara.  I've listed the products I use daily below.  Using quality make-up saves time during application and lessens the need for touch ups.

Boots No7 Dual Action Tinted Moisturizer
Maybelline SuperStay 24 hour concealer
MAC Powder Blush
Mary Kay Lengthening Mascara OR Mally Volumizing Mascara or Maybelline Waterproof Volum' Express Colossal Mascara
