Take Care... Of Your Hair! L'OREAL Haircare

Man, have I missed you guys!

And I've missed my beauty writing!  Busy busy mom and work stuff has set me a little behind on my lovely blog but, no worries, I have some haircare products to share with you!

It's no secret that my hair is not naturally this light.  I have dark blonde hair but have been lightening it for the past 8 months or so.  And it seems the longer I keep it light.... the lighter I want to go. Which, as we all know, is damaging to my hair.  Soooo I was extremely happy to receive L'OREAL's Total Repair Extreme Shampoo and Conditioner.

First let me start off by saying I am extremely picky when it comes to haircare products.  I like my hair to feel soft, not waxy.  I like to be able to run my fingers through my hair without feeling like I have product in it.  And this haircare system left my hair sooooo silky.

I could tell the shampoo was rich as soon as it hit my hand.  It's moisturizing, while still lathering.  I could tell a difference in the texture of my hair after just one use of the shampoo alone!

And the conditioner... Oh my goodness the conditioner! This is my new go to conditioner.  It is thick, smells fresh, and my hair soaks it up.

Ok so how does this shampoo and conditioner give me such beautifully drastic results so quickly?  I decided to look into it... so I could share with you!

This haircare line not only has ceramide in it to help repair and seal split ends, it also has Lactic AHA.  Lactic AHA helps control the PH of hair and keep it moisturized for long lasting results.

Either way, L'OREAL has won me over with this line.  I can't wait to try the hair masque of this line.  If I get these kind of results from shampoo and conditioner, I can't imagine what brilliance will emerge from the masque.

"New Tra-Dish" - A Spin on Pizza Night

For whatever reason, in a lot of households, Friday Night = Pizza Night.  It definitely was in our home until my son was born.  Now we try to save money where we can, so ordering pizza weekly is a tradition that is in our past.  I decided to start a new tradition OR a "New Tra-Dish" as Ragú coined.   I put a spin on Ragú's No Boiling Baked Ziti and made it Baked Pizza Ziti.  My husband doesn't like veggies on his pizza (thankfully every 1/2 cup of Ragú® Old World Style® Traditional Sauce contains 2 servings of vegetables including 11 juicy tomatoes) so the only pizza topping I added to this recipe is pepperoni, however, I would encourage you to add any of your favorite toppings.

Ragú Baked Pizza Ziti

1 jar (1 lb. 8 oz.) Ragú® Old World Style® Traditional Pasta Sauce
1 1/2 cups water
1 container (15 oz.) ricotta cheese
2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese (about 8 oz.)
1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
8 ounces uncooked ziti pasta
1 small package of pepperoni

Now... I'm a busy mom.  I work from home, keep up with the housework and care for my son.  So I am NOT big on kitchen clean up and I certainly don't like to add to my work load while making dinner.   I also rarely have a lot of time to prep a meal, especially since my son is super mobile now.  The changes I made to the prepping and cooking of Ragú's recipe reflect that.  To be honest, I normally don't use Ragú.  But this Old World Style is much thicker than what I remember Ragú being.  Very yummy!

Preheat oven to 400 Degrees Fahrenheit

Mix the Ragu, water, ricotta cheese, uncooked ziti, 1/2 of pepperoni packet (or 1/2 of your favorite pizza toppings) and Parmesan cheese in  casserole dish.

Sprinkle mozzarella cheese and the remaining pepperoni (or remaining toppings) on top.

Cover tightly with foil and bake for about 45 minutes. And you end up with....

It was definitely a hit with my hubby.  He told me "You should make this again!"  And then promptly claimed the leftovers.

I think we have our new Friday Night "Tra-Dish"

Yummy, Yummy!

Hello everyone!

I am getting ready to review My Oatmeal's products.  The problem?  I am having an indecisive moment and can't seem to pick my flavors. I'm thinking the Peanut Butter and Jelly Cupcake Oatmeal will definitely be one... but what else do I choose?! Everything looks so yummy!  What would you choose?

Teen Talking, Talking with Teens

Sometimes I feel old.  I know, I'm not yet 30... but over the past couple of years I've had several moments where I no longer felt trendy.  You know what I mean (hopefully)... those moments when you see a trend and think "WHY is this cool?!" for me, that moment is quickly followed by "...Oh...I'm old..."  Or the fact that probably about 1/3 of my readers won't get the Full House reference in the subject.

To remedy this feeling, I decided to go straight to the source and ask a beautiful teen I know, Miss Windin, some questions about beauty, fashion, and of course, trends.  Honestly, I feel a little better after talking to her.  Turns out, I'm not as out of touch as I felt.

For example, we both share a love of Maybelline, eyeliner, mascara, concealer, and boots worn with leggings.  Maybe I'm not as old as I sometimes feel ;o)

Drugstore Beauty Products I Love!

A lot of Beauty Bloggers gush over higher end makeup products because, well, we're obsessed with products in general.  BUT as both a mommy blogger and beauty blogger I'm here to tell you... you don't need to spend a lot of money on beauty products to get great results and quality products.  Drugstore brands have come a long way and are definitely the way to go if you would like to save your cash or spend it on other things.

Watch the video below to see the drugstore makeup, skin, and hair care products I recommend.
