No list of Christmas getaways would be complete without a mention of Lapland. Lapland is the perfect location for some family winter snow fun. Book a stay in one of the iconic wooden cabins and let the fun begin. This destination won’t let you down with snow; it’s somewhere truly special. During your stay, book a private visit with Santa for the children. Take the opportunity for a ride in a reindeer-drawn sleigh, too. You could even have fun on a snowmobile safari! If you’re lucky, you’ll get a glimpse of the Northern Lights during your stay too. What more could you want from a Christmas getaway?

THE ALPS, FRANCE
A trip to France could have you skiing on the Alps this Christmas season. This is yet another excellent Christmas getaway. This trip will have you witnessing snow like you’ve never quite seen before. Stock up on your ski gear and get ready to whizz down those snow peaked mountains this Christmas. The decorations in the chalets and hotels at this time of year are fantastic, too. Nothing beats sitting with a hot chocolate at the end of the day in a beautifully Christmassy cafe! If you’ve never been skiing before, now is the perfect time to learn. Even if skiing isn’t your idea of fun, there are plenty of local villages to visit and plenty of festivities to enjoy!
PRAGUE CHRISTMAS MARKETS, CZECH REPUBLIC
The Prague Christmas markets are perfect for last minute shopping. Christmas markets are full of beautiful homemade gifts that you won’t find anywhere else. The two markets to head to are in Town Square and Wenceslas Square, which are just a five-minute walk apart. You’ll have plenty of time to see both. It’s not just the gifts that are worth seeing in the Christmas market. As you look around, you’ll get the chance to see traditional foods being prepared in front of your eyes. Imagine the smells of those Christmas spices all around! And of course, you’ll have to give those treats a try. It doesn’t get much more Christmassy than that.
A Christmas getaway is sure to go down well with all your family. Start the festivities early by taking your children somewhere magical. You might not get a white Christmas exactly, but seeing a little snow before the big day is still worth it. And you never know, this might be the year you strike lucky!
